Put your grandma’s secret recipe to the test. Better yet, make a name for your restaurant. You can enter the salsa challenge as an individual, or business. Choose between the categories of hot, mild and sweet/fruity salsa.
What You Do:
Make 5 gallons of Salsa, and reserve a pint for judging. You may use any edible ingredients to prepare your salsa, just remember it must be either hot, mild or sweet/fruity. You may prepare it at home and bring it to the site that day, or it may be prepared at the Henderson Salsa Challenge™. The People’s Choice Award is judged by the public. If you make more than the 5 gallon salsa minimum you maximize your chances to win. Spirit counts. Teams who decorate their areas and wear costumes get more votes.

Henderson Salsa Challenge Contest Rules
- Limited to the first 35 accepted entries.
- Prepare a minimum of 5 gallons (more if you wish) of salsa with one pint for the celebrity judging.
- Make sure your salsa is made and stored according to health standards. For more information visit the Southern Nevada Health District website at www.cchd.org.
- Upon acceptance you will be notified by mail of festival information: i.e., judging times, award times, booth placement, check-in and parking arrangements.
- Check-in at the salsa tasting venue no later than 9:30 am to get your table space and begin your setup. Salsa challenge will begin at 11 am.
- You must bring ice chests with ice to keep your salsa refrigerated.
- There is an admission fee for the public to attend the Henderson Salsa Challenge™. Passes will be provided for your team.
- Prizes will be awarded for the best salsa in the following categories: Hot, Medium and Sweet/Fruity, “Peoples Choice Award” for the best salsa and “Best Booth”, for the best booth and or costume.
- Festival is open to the public from 11 am – 5 pm, during which times your tables need to be staffed. You can not tear down your salsa booth until 5 pm.
Selection of the winners by the judges (celebrity or public) is final.
- This application does not guarantee acceptance to the Henderson Salsa Challenge™.

I have read the Henderson Salsa Challenge™ rules and regulations, if my application is accepted I hereby give the Frank Maguire & Associates Inc. & the City of Henderson, NV the right to use photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings and any other record taken for this event of me or my team members to be reproduce in any form for purposes of promotion, advertising, display, exhibition or editorial use without compensation.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY
In consideration of my entry in the above described Henderson Salsa Challenge™, I, intended to be legally bound, do hereby for myself, my heirs, my executors, and administrators, waive, release and forever discharge any and all right and claims for damages which may here after accrue to me against the City of Henderson, NV, Frank Maguire & Associates, Inc, all event sponsors and staff, Companies or entities, their officials, employees and agents of any and all liability or responsibility arising from any injury received or incurred participating in the festival. I promise to examine the event site and assure myself that the area is safe. And further agree that I will not participate in the event unless I am satisfied that the area and conditions are safe, I will further read and comply with all contest rules and regulations, note existing weather conditions and do agree that I voluntarily assume all risks arising from conditions related to the event site by myself or others.
