Follow each of the links below for a salsa recipe:Best Salsa Ingredients: 2 medium tomatoes, diced 1 medium onion, diced 2 avocados, diced 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies 2 (8 oz.) cans Ortega green chili salsa 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce Instructions: Mix all ingredients together. Season with garlic powder, seasoned salt and pepper. Optional - add diced black olives or diced green peppers. Caribbean Salsa Ingredients: 2 Tablespoon diced peeled onion 2 cups tomatoes,seeded and diced 1 habanero chile, seeded and finely minced 1 small red bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1/4-inch pieces 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained 2 limes, juiced 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil salt to taste Instructions: Place the diced onion in a fine mesh strainer, rinse with cold water, drain and pat dry between layers of paper towels. Combine with tomatoes, red bell pepper, pineapple, lime juice, basil, chile and salt. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving. Classic Salsa Ingredients: 4 Ripe tomatoes -- cored 10 Fresh jalapenos 1/2 ts Garlic -- chopped Salt -- to taste Freshly ground black pepper to taste Instructions: This classic salsa starts with fresh tomatoes, but canned tomatoes can be substituted. Tasting as you go is a must, since the heat of jalapenos varies. Fresh Peach Salsa Ingredients: 2 cups chopped, peeled fresh peaches 1/4 cup chopped sweet onion 3 Tbsp. lime juice 2 to 3 Tbsp. finely chopped, seeded fresh jalapeno pepper 1 clove garlic, minced 1 Tbsp. snipped fresh cilantro 1/2 tsp. sugar Instructions: In a medium mixing bowl stir together peaches, onion, lime juice, peppers, garlic, cilantro, and sugar. Cover and chill for 1 to 2 hours. Makes 2 cups. Garbanzo Salsa Ingredients: 1 cn Garbanzos (8 oz) 1 c Cilantro,fresh 1/3 c Yogurt,lowfat,unflavored 1/3 c Green onion,chopped 1/4 c Lime juice Salt to taste Pepper to paste Instructions: Drain garbanzos; whirl smooth in a food processor or blender with cilantro, yogurt, onions, and lime juice. Add salt and pepper to taste. Garlic Cilantro SalsaIngredients: 6 Cloves Garlic, chopped 3 Jalapeno Chiles, chopped 4 Tomatoes, chopped 1 ts Cumin 1/2 c Cilantro, chopped 1 ds Lemon Juice 1 ds Salt Instructions: Combine all ingredients and whirr until smooth in a blender or food processor. Makes 2/3 cup. Habanero Mango Salsa Ingredients: 5 Dried Habanero Chiles, Stems -Removed 2 tb Chopped White Onion 1 lb Fresh Mango, Chopped 3 tb Golden Raisins 1/8 ts Tumeric 1 Fresh Lime Quartered Instructions: Cover the chiles with water in a saucepan. Place on the stove, add the onions and simmer until the chiles are softened. Add the mango and the raisins, raise the heat, and just before it begins to boil, remove from the heat. Honeydew Salsa Ingredients: 3 1/3 cups honeydew melon (diced) 3/4 cup peanuts (chopped) Thai red and green chiles to taste 3/4 cup fresh mint leaves (chopped) 1 tsp. fresh rosemary (minced) 1 tsp. salt Instructions: Instructions: Combine all ingredients. Chill. Can be served with, tortillas, corn bread, fish, chicken or turkey. Makes 8 servings. Mango Salsa Ingredients 2 Mangos, ripe; peeled & chopped 1 md Red onion; chopped 1/4 c Fresh cilantro leaves 4 Fresh jalapenos; chopped 1 Lime; juiced, about 2 tbs., ;with rind grated ds Salt Instructions: Mix together and let chill for at least an hour! Mango Salsa II Ingredients 1/2 cup jalapeño jelly 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice 2-1/2 cups chopped peeled pitted mango 1-1/2 cups chopped red bell pepper 1/2 cup chopped red onion 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro 1 jalapeño chili, minced Instructions: Whisk together jelly and lime juice in large bowl. Mix in all remaining ingredients. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Can be made 2 hours ahead. Cover and chill. Papaya Salsa Ingredients 1 large papaya cut into small diced pieces 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro Chopped jalapeno from the marinade 1/2 finely chopped red onion Instructions: Combine all the ingredients for the salsa in a bowl and pepper to taste. Set aside. The Recipe Ingredients 4 ripe medium plum tomatoes 1 large onion, peeled and diced 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Instructions: Chop tomatoes finely and place in bowl. Add diced onion, lime juice, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, and parsley. Stir and chill until serving time. Tomotillo Dip Ingredients 1 Pound of Tomotillo's 2 Jalapeno 1 Bunch of Cilantro 1/2 an Onion 1 oz. cream cheese Instructions: Cut the Tomotillos into quarters. Cut Jalapeno in half and remove the seeds. Chop cilantro -removing the stems. Chop the onion. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until it comes to a salsa like consistency. Tropical Fruit Salsa Ingredients 1 md Ripe Mango, peeled, pitted And cut into 1/4" cubes 1 md Ripe Papaya, peeled, seeded And cut into 1/4" cubes 1 md Ripe Avocado, peeled, pitted And cut into 1/4" cubes 3 tb Lime Juice 2 tb Fresh Cilantro, chopped 2 tb Brown Sugar 1 ts Jalapeno Peppers, drained 1 ts Ginger, crushed Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour to allow flavours to blend. Serve with grilled fish or chicken. Also good with tortilla chips. |
